A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse,
a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates
With pleasant fruits, fragrant henna with spikenard,
Spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon,
With all trees of frankincense, myrhh and aloes,
With all the chief spices—
A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters,
And streams from Lebanon.
Awake, O north wind, and come O south!
Blow upon my garden, that its spices may flow out.
Let my beloved come to his garden
And eat its pleasant fruits.
Song of Songs 4:12-16
In this blog, I want to share some of the things Father has shown me about Himself, about me, about life in Him. I want to allow the wind to blow those spices He’s planted in me out to draw others to Him — the Beloved, the Master Gardener. My prayer is that what I share will draw you closer to God, and that your relationship with Him will deepen and grow, until you, too, are sending out the scent of spices on the wind.
couple little notes:
- I will be quoting the New King James Bible, unless I say otherwise.
- While I am being as honest in here as I feel Father wants me to be, I will also do my best to protect others, so will not ‘name names’. Because of that, I do not intend to give out a lot of information about myself or my family. Some of them would not appreciate it.
And because I am being honest, some of my attitudes might be wrong. I’m a work in progress, as are we all. Please allow Holy Spirit to show you His truth in here, and don’t get bogged down in my attitudes or style of expression. And I’ll try not to rant too much.
- And perhaps the most important point of all – we have a very big God, who is able to meet each of us where we are, and who we are. Therefore, what He shows me and how He speaks to me, will be different than how He reveals Himself to anyone else. What makes sense to my personality might sound like garbage (or heresy) to you. In that case, delete the bookmark, and don’t come back. I won’t be offended, and neither will He.
But I encourage you to continue in your personal journey in and with our Father God. Allow Him to speak to you in ways that work for you. Trust me, He’s big enough to handle all the variations in personality and mindset and culture and learning style and even gender that exist in us humans. After all, He made us to be that diverse.
And just in case there’s one or two of you who think what He has shown me is really awesome – thanks. But please never forget that what I share here is His – His truth, His revelation – not mine. If any of it helps you to see Him more truly, to be free of lies or bondage, draws you deeper into Him, then thank Father God, not me.(But you can leave me nice comments.)
